Spokane artist Lisa Nappa is fascinated with water as a subject. She says: “As an artist I am deeply concerned about the politics of water as well as fascinated with its powerful element in our world. As humans, we have a deep connection with water. As an artist, I am aware of water’s ability to incite and inspire us. I am especially interested in acknowledging water’s capability to reflect and refract light, creating patterns in space.”
These large-scale manipulated digital images using water as a subject subtly challenge our vision, our grasp on ephemeral and liquid states, and the magic of a single moment that cannot be held.
