Spirit Vessels

A emerging fiber artist from Ohio, Kelsey Leib is thrilled to present her Spirit Vessels series at Communion Church. Constructed of crocheted and knitted wire and monofilament, these delicate and luminous forms suggest garments, the human form, and the essence of the human spirit.
Women’s Work
604 First Street, Mount Vernon
Ongoing hours: Thursday – Sunday 11am – 7pm
Women’s Work will showcase handmade textiles and jewelry crafted by women’s collectives in Latin America, curated by local advocates Ginny Darvill, Rita Johnson, and Debbie DuPey. Collectives include Corazon de Mujer, benefiting victims of Guatemala’s civil war; Milagros, benefitting Albergue Frida Heller,a shelter in Lima, Peru; and Vida Neuva, a collective offering economic opportunities to women, founded in 1996 in Oaxaca, Mexico.
