Interested in participating in Storefronts Seattle this year? Applications are now available for the 2012 Roster! Artists, arts groups, and arts businesses are encouraged to apply for participation in the Installation, Residency, or Creative Enterprise tracks.
Selected projects receive FREE SPACE for up to 6 months and a variety of support from Storefronts Seattle. And get this – there are no geographical requirements this year, so spread the word to your artist friends in other cities and states. Applications are due by 11pm, Wednesday, February 22. Here’s a quick break down of the different tracks:
Installation: Selected artists are provided a stipend to create an installation in a storefront window, to be viewed from the street. Stipends range from $250-$1,000, depending on your budget.
Artist Residencies: Artists of any discipline are given space to pursue new projects, typically for a 3 month duration. Residency spaces are primarily work spaces, not open to the general public.
Creative Enterprise: Artists and creative entrepreneurs are provided with space to experiment and test out new creative business ideas for 3-6 months. Creative Enterprise spaces are open to the public and are required to hold set business hours. Participants must hold appropriate permits, licenses, and insurance by the time their project opens.
